The Assembly Rooms is an atmospheric old stone building accessed via an alley next to the Yin Yang shop in the High Street. The building is heated but the temperature is not always easily controlled so we suggest you wear layers. If you have a sensitive bottom, bring a cushion as the chairs are hard!

Glastonbury has lots of accommodation from basic to reasonably luxurious. It is a small town and all facilities and most places of interest are within walking distance. The people at Glastonbury Tourist Information Centre may be able to advise on what is best for you, your budget and whether or not you are driving or coming by public transport. The website below is useful – and you can search for Glastonbury B&B to find other options. There is a Travelodge and a Premier Inn just outside Glastonbury, (may be good if you are coming in a large group); the George and Pilgrims Hotel in the High Street has accommodation, though it may be noisy on Friday and Saturday night. Self-catering accommodation is also available in or near Glastonbury.

There is a route planner on www.theaa.com.
Street maps are available from www.streetmap.co.uk.

Bristol has an airport: most flights are from European cities but there is also a service from New York. This is a good option if you are flying in and want to avoid a train plus bus journey onwards from London.

There is no train station in Glastonbury but rail services from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads train station are frequent.

Local Bus No. 376 which goes to Glastonbury/Wells has a pick up point from a street nearby Bristol Temple Meads station. The bus journey from Bristol is 1 hour 15 minutes. Stops are at the bend of the High Street known as Market Cross and on Wells Road.
The nearest train station to Glastonbury is Castle Cary, from London Paddington. You will need a taxi for the ½hr journey to Glastonbury which is best booked in advance – see taxis below.

Trains also go to other Bristol train stations from London Waterloo and various regions: try this link for information: http://www.carlberry.co.uk/rfnshowr.asp?RN=BR351P.
National Rail Enquiries: 0845 7484950

Coaches are an option if you are on a tight budget but have time – it is a much slower journey than by train. The National Express coach from Victoria Coach Station, London, leaves about 17:30, arrives about 22:30 in Glastonbury. The return coach leaves Glastonbury at 6:45. Coaches to Bristol are more frequent from where you can get bus 376 to Glastonbury.

National Express coaches also travel from Heathrow (LHR) to Glastonbury

There is a free car park at Morrison’s supermarket. Go down Glastonbury High Street which becomes Magdalene Street at the bend at the Market Cross, pass the Town Hall, the car park and the Abbey on your left leading to a mini roundabout. Turn right. The driveway entrance to Morrisons is the next turning on the right. You can then walk into town (via small lane past a block of flats). This car park closes at 4pm on Sunday so you will need to move your car in the break. There is a paying car park near Glastonbury Town Hall & Abbey.
